The village of Oiz\u00e9 is located in the department of Sarthe. It goes back to the first times of the Roman period. It was chosen by the Romans as the chief town of one of the 14 regions which constituted the C\u00e9nomen country.<\/p>\n

Rebuilt on the site of an ancient Roman temple, then on a feudal castle, this splendid castle dates back to the 18th century. Close to Le Mans, 1h30 from Paris and 20 minutes from the 24 hours of Le Mans racetrack, this small haven of peace can only delight you.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In the 19th century, two other pavilions were built by the de La Porte family. Its paneled rooms, typical of the 19th century, are decorated with 5 paintings representing bucolic landscapes (Japan, India, Italy, Netherlands and Russia). The coat of arms of the de La Porte family appears above the entrance door: knight’s helmet with eagles (Habsburg coat of arms?) and the letter P.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Entirely renovated, its 550 m2 of space are nothing but beauty and refinement: beautiful, as you walk through the corridors on 3 levels, through the 13 thematic bedrooms with their bathrooms, through its splendid reception room with marble fireplaces, through its bucolic living room all in wood panelling and through its suspended oak staircase dating back to the 19th century. A chic and refined decoration, a sober and functional spirit, in other words, a charming residence where one can feel good.<\/p>\n

The dovecote comes from the first construction and remains from the 15th century as well as the crypt of the ancient church. A second dovecote (see picture below) fell at the beginning of the 20th century. In the park of the castle of over 1 hectare, there is a safe swimming pool and some majestic trees.<\/p>\n

We find in particular a spruce tree (see the article in the Nouvel Observateur, April 1979), which is more than 4 centuries old, a tuya, a sequoia and a catalpa whose trunk has a circumference of nearly 10 meters, and which are said to come from seeds brought from the East by Pierre Belon, a naturalist born in 1517 in La Souleti\u00e8re, on the border of Oiz\u00e9 and C\u00e9rans-Foulletourte. In addition to fir trees, cedars, chestnut trees, Italian poplars, walnut trees, apple trees, cherry trees, pear trees and plum trees, roses, grapevines, tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, lily of the valley, reeds and irises grow near the lake.<\/p>\n
