Heritage days

18-19 Septembre

For the first time in its history, the castle of Montaupin in Oizé-Sarthe will be open to visitors during the Heritage Days, September 18-19, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Among the monuments and rooms to discover: the castle’s coat of arms, the bucolic living room and its period paintings, the English-style suspended staircase, its spacious rooms and their canopy…

The castle was built in the feudal period and rebuilt in 1791, at the end of the 18th century. Several parts of the castle were rebuilt between 1827 and 1830.

Its medieval dovecote, which has become a country cottage, dates from the 15th century, 1407.

In its park decorated with beautiful trees, we find a cedar that is more than 460 years old, a cedar of the Atlas, catalpas, spruces, several types of maples …

The Fadel family bought the castle in March 2021 and has completely renovated it both inside and out. They are pleased to welcome you on September 18 and 19 in their new-former castle, the castle of Montaupin in Oizé, which can also be called, thanks to its bright facade: the White House of the Sarthe.
